Lissette Fernandez, LCSW

Founder of Liferza Counseling | Trauma & Psychedelic Therapist | Immigration & Acculturation Specialist

From a young age, Lissette Fernandez, LCSW, witnessed the power of empathy and wisdom through the women in her life. Her grandmother’s natural ability to provide guidance and support, combined with her mother’s deep wisdom, shaped Lissette’s path into therapy. She saw how people gravitated toward them in times of need—how words, presence, and understanding could change lives. Inspired by this, she built Liferza Counseling, a space dedicated to emotional healing, personal transformation, and empowerment.

As a therapist, Lissette describes her work as a blend of empathy, active listening, and detective work—piecing together the unique journey of each client and guiding them toward transformation. This philosophy is reflected in Liferza Counseling’s logo, which features a chameleon, symbolizing the power of adaptability through self-discovery. Just as a chameleon adjusts to its environment while staying true to itself, therapy at Liferza supports clients in navigating change, embracing growth, and uncovering their authentic selves. Her approach is eclectic, culturally attuned, and deeply personal, ensuring that every technique she uses is tailored to the client’s unique emotional language and needs.

With specialized training in trauma therapy, psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy, and immigration acculturation, Lissette has worked extensively with individuals facing deep-seated fears and limiting beliefs. She believes that every challenge holds the key to transformation and helps clients recognize how their struggles can become their greatest strengths. For her, healing can emerge in many forms—a single word, a thought-provoking question, a shared moment of understanding, or even play and creativity.

Lissette’s passion for growth and self-exploration has led her to train both in and outside the United States, continuously expanding her knowledge. She holds certifications in trauma-focused therapy and psychedelic-assisted therapy, and she stays updated through ongoing education as a licensed therapist in Florida and Virginia.

Beyond therapy, Lissette finds joy and grounding in ballroom dancing, traveling, and spending time with loved ones—including her beloved dogs. She believes that healing is a path to self-transformation, one that requires effort and dedication. “Some days, it may seem like you’re stuck, but keep going,” she reminds her clients. Through Liferza Counseling, she aims to make therapy accessible and culturally responsive, especially for underserved communities.

Her ultimate goal? To help people rewrite their narratives, embrace their emotions, and unlock the potential that has always been within them.
